  3. Please pkunzip the entire contents into one directory without separating
  4. the files.

  6. There are 4 files that have to be in the same directory
  7.  
  8. --Digiview.exe
  9. --Load.dxr
  10. --FileIO.dll
  11. --Readme.txt
  12.  
  13. DigitView will also work on Windows 95 machines.
  14.  
  15. To run the program, you will need to run Windows or windows 95 and add
  16. the icon of DigitView by the File-New-Program_item procedure or by 
  17. creating a shortcut or whatever you want in windows 95 to a
  18. program group. Sorry about this hassle, the future version will have
  19. a user friendlier installer.

  21. The major change in this version is that it will detect system palette
  22. automatically, for those who only uses 8bit colors display, DigitView will
  23. display correct colors now.

  25. To open a digital video file, click on the FLOPPY icon on the panel.
  26.  
  27. DigitView can also play QuickTime movies as well as AVI movies,
  28. but make sure you have "QuickTime for Windows" and "Video for Windows" runtimes 
  29. installed. Windows 95 comes with VFW runtime. For QuickTime, you will have
  30. to download it from CompuServe by typing keyword GO QUICKTIME, or buy a 
  31. CD-Rom title such as games that were made with QuickTime video. Or contact 
  32. Apple and might be logon to Apple's web site to see if they have QuickTime 
  33. runtime installer for Windows for downloading. You might want to try some 
  34. CD-Rom magazines such as the Nautilus CD magazine as well.

  36. MCI MPEG movies support will be added later also, but this implementation depends
  37. on existing MCI MPEG driver on your computer, if you do not have any MPEG driver 
  38. installed, Digitview will still not work with MPEG movies.

  40. Next version of digitView, more likely v1.3 will include volume control of sound, 
  41. play back speed of 4x normal and user selectable from 1x to 4x, and more.

  43. DigitView v1.2 is shareware. The shareware fee is $6.00.
  44. This is the minimum that is enough to support me for the future releases. If 
  45. you like DigitView and continue using it, please send me the registration fee. 
  46. Comments and bug reports are welcome too.

  48. You can redistribute DigitView, and this "README.TXT" note to be included for
  49. redistribution. DigitView should not be bought, and any modification or copying
  50. any of DigitView's material will be strictly prohibited.
